There have been several people who have decided to sell their home from an essay contest instead of using a traditional realtor. Whatever the seller’s reasonings, this could be a great way to score an amazing home for an extremely low price. There is a new contest where you could win a beautiful Victorian home with a farm in New York for only $150!
The home is an 1870 Victorian style home that is 3,100 square feet! It resides in New York and comes with a 5-acre farm. The owners, Tim and Maggie Lott, have set up a competition to find the new owners of their large home and property. All you have to do is write an essay and send in $150.
You have to tell the Lotts what “owning a 5-acre farm property would mean to you and your family.” They are hoping to make someone’s dream come true. They are looking for essays to be from the heart and around 500-1,000 words.
The Lotts won’t be reading all of these essays though. They have selected impartial judges to read the essays and select the winner. The winner will receive the Victorian home, all of the appliances inside, five acres of land that includes a farm, tractor, and chicken coop. They will also get $10,000. Not bad for an essay and $150, right?
The competition doesn’t end there. You could get $1,000 for coming in second and $500 for third place. The Lotts said that they are working with attorneys to make sure everything is legitimate and fair. You cannot visit the home in person, but they have posted many photos online. The home has five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
According to their website for the contest, the Lotts said they have lived in the home for 18 years and are looking to create a new dream somewhere else. They think the real estate game is crazy and wanted to do something more creative. All entries must be received by July 1, 2019, so get writing.
Check out all of the photos, rules and regulations, and how to enter on their website. Would you enter this contest to win a farmhouse? It seems very beautiful! If you enjoyed this article, please SHARE with your friends and family who would love to win this home!
