On April 23, 2018, at 11:01 am, Duchess Kate Middleton delivered her third child, a boy. The newest royal baby is the younger brother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The couple announced that they were expecting in the fall, but they didn’t tell anyone the baby’s gender. This morning, when the royal family announced the birth of the baby, they also revealed that it was a boy.
Just hours after announcing the baby’s birth, the royal family shared the first photograph of the newborn, held by his mother. Duke William accompanied his wife as they left the hospital, just hours after the baby was born.
Earlier today, Will was seen bringing his two older children to the hospital to meet their little brother. Both Prince George and Princess Charlotte looked thrilled to go see the new baby.
Prince George was at school when his brother was born (which is why he’s in his uniform), while Princess Charlotte was at home. Charlotte wore an adorable blue dress — it’s possible she’s wearing blue to reference her little sibling’s gender!
Although the baby’s name has not yet been revealed, British oddsmakers say the most likely names are Arthur and Albert.
Both the Duchess and her baby are in good health, and they went home from the hospital earlier today.
The baby was born just six days before his parents’ wedding anniversary. On April 29, 2018, Kate and Will will celebrate their seventh anniversary.
Congratulations to the happy family! If you can’t wait to learn the baby’s name, don’t forget to share this article with your friends.
