McDonald’s Will Cut Some Late-Night Menu Items This Month

McDonald’s will have a new late-night menu starting April 30, 2019. Instead of adding new items, they will simply be cutting down on their offerings from midnight until 5 a.m. The “After Midnight” menu first showed up in 2013, offering dinner and breakfast foods to those getting fast food in the middle of the night.

In order to speed up service and keep prices low, McDonald’s is getting rid of some menu items on their popular “After Midnight” menu. But, have no fear, these menu items will still be available during the rest of the day. Don’t think that they are gone forever.

What menu items will be unavailable from midnight to 5 a.m.?

If you have a craving for buttermilk crispy tenders, Filet-O-Fish, and even salads at 2 a.m., you’ll be out of luck come April 30 and beyond. These items and more will sadly be unavailable during those late night hours.

According to Business Insider, Signature Crafted Recipes, artisan grilled-chicken sandwiches, buttermilk-crispy-chicken sandwiches, buttermilk crispy tenders, Filet-O-Fish, and premium salads will be cut from McDonald’s late-night menu.

Bagel sandwiches and Snack Wraps, which are served regionally, will also be cut from late-night menus. We’re especially bummed about this.

McDonald’s said that they are hoping to get customers their favorites as fast as possible. They are likely cutting the menu down in the middle of the night to speed up service. Most of the items being cut from the menu are probably not very popular in the middle of the night.

What can you still order from midnight to 5 a.m. at McDonald’s?

You will still be able to order Big Macs, Quarter Pounder burgers, Chicken McNuggets, fries, Happy Meals, McCafé coffee drinks, additional sides and desserts, and their “All Day Breakfast” menu.

If you try to order something that was cut from the menu during this time, an employee will apparently recommend a similar menu item.

This change is also prompted to help keep McDonald’s prices low for customers. McDonald’s also hopes to decrease food waste. So, if you know that you may crave a Filet-O-Fish at 3 a.m., order it before midnight and save it for those late night cravings. Or head to McDonald’s to get everything from the late night menu before April 30!
