Tori Spelling Has Confirmed A Reboot Of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’

By Jane Kenney

It has officially been confirmed that after about 18 long years, a reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, will be hitting television screens once more! Rumors have been stirring for years on a potential revival of the show and Tori Spelling just confirmed it when she appeared on Access to spill the news. “It’s confirmed,” Spelling said, “We’re doing a new 90210.”

But that’s not all! Spelling spilled a lot more than just the news of a revival and fans of 90210 are going to lose it. Take a look!

“It is the OG crew back together and we’re playing heightened versions of ourselves,” Spelling explained to Access. “The fans will be pleasantly surprised though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show. So it’ll be a whole ensemble cast playing a heightened version of themselves. Almost everybody.”

While Spelling was able to say that, she wasn’t opting for dropping the cast list. “Almost everybody” could really mean anything. Who’s in and who’s not? Only time will tell for that one.

Now, while a cast list isn’t being announced probably for a long while, Spelling did confirm that unfortunately, Shannen Doherty isn’t on board with the revival (at least not yet) and Luke Perry will likely be a recurring guest on the show than a regular character, since he is busy with Riverdale at the moment.

“If she’s watching, we would love to have you do it,” Spelling pleaded during Access, in regards to Doherty not accepting the bid yet. Spelling also confirmed that Perry will do as many episodes as he can, so that makes us feel a bit better.

Spelling went a little bit further, giving fans an idea of the format of the reboot.

“Think Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes, in an hour-long show, and we’re all playing heightened versions, so it could be fictional, it could be non-fictional, people will have to guess. And then we will have pop-ins, because we’re behind the scenes trying to do the reboot,” she explains. Apparently, the reboot is slated for a 2019 release, so we won’t have to wait much longer. Hooray!
