Coconut oil is another great substance to apply before bedtime. It’s best to use it as a moisturizing cream of sorts.
By adding your favorite oil to your baths, such as olive oil or coconut oil, it helps rehydrate your skin and recreate natural skin barriers which can often be damaged by frequent hand and face washing.
This works wonders for irritated skin! Milk has natural anti-inflammatory properties, so using a milk compress for 5 to 10 minutes can help soothe cracked, irritated skin. However, the lactic acid in milk can sting severely cracked/chapped skin, so it’s best to proceed with caution on that one! (P.S. This also works GREAT for sunburns)
Fruit enzyme cleansers such as pineapple, pumpkin, and papaya, are the perfect solution for exfoliating the skin. Using one of these as a wash or mask twice a week could work wonders for your dry skin! You might have one of these lying around in your bathroom.
