Italians, this one is for you! Pour some vinegar over the tomato stain and let it soak in before throwing it into the wash as per usual. Check to make sure that the stain is actually out before running it through the dryer.

Mildew stains can occur when you forget to move the laundry from the washer to the dryer and it smells or even looks mildewy. To fix this, mix equals parts vinegar and water with some salt and soak the clothing in the little solution you just made. Repeat if necessary.

Saturate with vinegar, then rub the spot with a paste made from equal parts vinegar and baking soda. If the stain persists, feel free to soak the item with a couple tablespoons of vinegar and laundry detergent in a bucket of water for up to 24 hours. Rinse and wash afterward.
