Do you think your mother or mother-in-law is bad? Chances are they do not compare to these awful movie mothers. Thank goodness they are exaggerated characters and hopefully, no one is this bad in real life! Your mother is supposed to care for you and be kind, but these movies moms did not get that memo.

1. Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest

This movie was based on an autobiography, so it was based on a real person. Yikes! Mommie Dearest is about the childhood of Christina Crawford and her crazed adoptive mother Joan Crawford. Faye Dunaway played this psycho, mean mother.

2. Pamela Voorhees in Friday, the 13th

There have been many Friday, the 13th movies, but this one is where Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees is the killer. A group of teenagers is killed while trying to re-open a summer camp and it turns out to be this killer mom. She blamed her son Jason’s death on the camp counselors because they didn’t pay attention to him as he drowned.

3. The Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella

This one is a classic. There are animated Cinderellas and those with actors, but the evil stepmother always stays the same. She is obviously jealous of Cinderella and wants her out of the picture. Still, don’t you just despise her in those movies?

4. Eleanor Iselin in The Manchurian Candidate

Elanor used her kids as a pawn to overthrow the government. This seems a bit extreme! Do you remember this movie starring Angela Lansbury, Laurence Harvey, and Frank Sinatra?
