White Vinegar is the holy grail of all things kitchen appliances. Whether you’re disinfecting any of your kitchenware items or simply cleaning your coffee maker machine, you’ve probably used it many times before and always keep a handle of it nearby just in case. However, there’s a reason why you should possibly consider using it more often.
White vinegar is an extremely powerful dishwashing aid. If you’ve ever dealt with hard water staining on your dishes and plates, grab your vinegar stat. Hard water stains can be frustrating when your ‘sparkly clean’ dishes, plates, and other items aren’t so sparkly clean at all. They actually may appear to be cloudy and the opposite of clean. Here’s where the vinegar comes in.
While it might be your first idea to put the vinegar in the rinse aid compartment, this might put the actual compartment at risk for compromisation of the gaskets. To do this safely, put some white vinegar in a dishwasher-safe bowl and place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. By performing this one easy step, you’ll be pulling out those sparkly clean dishes once more!
As seen from the photo above, you can see just what hard water can do to your glasses over time. The last thing you want is to invite someone over and explain to them that your glasses aren’t dirty, it’s just the hard water. Embarrassing! Be sure to make vinegar your handy-dandy cleaning product to ensure all of your home items are clean and look clean.
Vinegar is also a great cleaning aid for your floors, especially if they’re hardwood. Damaging your hardwood flooring is a nightmare that no homeowner ever wants to experience. However, with vinegar by your side, you can ensure that your hardwood floors will be safe from any damaging chemicals and grime that might be sticking to your floors.
Additionally, vinegar is often used to clean out coffee machines and Keurigs. This is because of, you guessed it, hard water. See a running theme here? All you have to do is fill up the water chamber with vinegar and run it through as if you’re making a pot of coffee, then let sit for 30 minutes. Not only will the inside of your coffee maker be cleaner, but the machine itself may actually brew coffee faster!
After all that, if you’re still in cleaning mode, we have something for you! This video had just about every cleaning tip we’ve ever heard of. Enjoy!
