5. St. Elmo’s Fire
Filmed in Washington D.C. in the fall, there are so many beautiful scenes of car rides through falling leaves and everyone in 1980s fall attire. This movie came out in 1985 and featured big names like Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, and Demi Moore.
6. Fly Away Home
If you’re looking for a family-friendly flick, try Fly Away Home. It follows a father-daughter duo who helps orphaned geese fly away for the winter. It is a feel-good fall movie that was released in 1996.
7. Good Will Hunting
Good Will Hunting is another essential fall and Robin Williams movie. Williams helps Matt Damon’s character find his calling and much of the movie is set in fall in New England. This film came out in 1997 and a lot of it was set at Harvard’s beautiful campus.
8. Rudy
Another great family film from the 1990s, especially if your family loves football. Rudy was always told he was too small to excel at football, but he dreams of playing for Notre Dame. Football is such an essential fall activity, therefore movies about football feel very connected to fall too.
