As of late Monday, September 10th, Governor McMaster of South Carolina has issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire coastline. He estimates that 1 million people will be impacted by the mandatory evacuation.
According to The Weather Channel, McMaster issued an evacuation plan in his announcement. He said that “authorities will reverse all eastbound lanes of Interstate 26 into Charleston and U.S. 501 into Myrtle Beach, sending all traffic in one direction – away from the coast. Two other roadways will be ready for lane reversals by noon Tuesday in case they’re needed.”

As aforementioned, evacuation and safety measures are to be taken seriously in light of the impending storm. The National Hurricane Center has shared its key messages to take away from the multitude of forecasts being released on the hurricane.
