Normally, 7-Eleven only gives out their signature Slurpees for free on July 11th, but this week they are changing tradition. As a nod to kids going back to school and celebrating the last week of summer, they have a “Two Cool for School” deal going on.
7-Eleven is offering buy one, get one free Slurpees now until Sunday, August 19th, 2018. The deal goes for any size and at any time during this week. Many 7-Eleven chains are featuring these Slurpee flavors this week: Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries, Wild Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Pina Colada, Coca-Cola and Slurpee Lite Lemonade.
Which flavor will you get this week? The senior vice president of 7-Eleven, Sean Thompson, said that the end of summer is exciting for everyone and Slurpees are a great way to celebrate the end of summer. He also said that Slurpees always taste better when they are shared with someone else. We would have to agree.
Machines that made frozen beverages were invented in the 1950s. The Slurpee at 7-Eleven started in the 1960s and became more and more popular. In the early days of Slurpees, flavors were rotated frequently and given funny names like Adults Only, Moonshine, Kissin’ Cousin, and Sticky Icky. Can you imagine?
Slurpees at 7-Eleven are now popular around the world and are a staple for most Americans summers, especially in hot weather. What is your favorite Slurpee flavor or do you actually hate Slurpees?
Will you get a Slurpee this week during the promotion? Your kids or grandkids will thank you!
