Did you have an old Volkswagen Bus? They were popular among hippie types in the 1960s and beyond. Now this classic bus is making a comeback. This time with a lot of modern twists on this retro classic. It will be called the I.D. Buzz and it certainly will be the buzz around town with Volkswagen fans.
Let’s take a look back in time. The old VW Bus engine wasn’t very impressive. The bus itself wasn’t the safest and could only reach around 60 mph on the highway. Not exactly up to par with our lives now. Many people are actually turning their old VW buses into tiny homes these days because they just aren’t that safe to drive anymore.
The new VW Bus still holds the iconic shape but is updated. You can tell that they are similar, but it has new twists like the headlights that wrap around the front of the vehicle. The new version will also be electric. There will be options of rear-drive and all-wheel-drive and different horsepowers. The driving range before needing to recharge will be 270 miles. It is said that it will recharge about 80 percent in 30 minutes.
What is really neat is that the inside is so customizable you may feel like you are in your living room. When parked, you can flip the seats. Seats can face each other, there is a couch with headrests on the windows, or you can keep them in the classic layout. There are so many options and you can also leave seats down and use them as tables with cupholders.
The inside will look completely different from the old version because of the technology. Not only is it electric, but it will have a whole different look inside with technology from Nvidia. The inside looks modern and sleek with a minimalist twist. It basically looks like a car of the future.
What do you think about the new VW Bus? Do you like it better or will you always like the retro version?
Do you want to buy one for yourself?
