This service dog who accompanies her owner during bouts of anxiety and depression just received her own cap on her owner’s graduation day. Her owner, Casey Bruno, had a graduation cap with a paw on the back with flowers inside the paw, while Paisley, the dog, rocked a cap with a human hand on the back with those same matching flowers.
Paisley joined the Bruno family in 2016 when she was just a puppy. At 2-years-old, she has been by Casey’s side through all four years of college in addition to her actual graduation. The 2-year-old Dalmatian was gifted the matching hat from her owner, Casey Bruno, who recently received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. “It represented how I was dedicated to her and her dedication to me throughout college,” Casey says about their matching graduation caps.
Casey suffered from anxiety and depression, and Paisley would even accompany her to class. “You can’t be mad, sad, or frustrated when she’s right next to you because she’s such a happy dog — she’s so in touch with other people’s emotions. I’m slightly obsessed with her. She has her own Instagram handle, @paisley_the_dal,” Casey gushed about her service dog.
Casey graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in her studies of Veterinary Medicine, in which her cap’s abbreviation ‘Future DVM’ (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) stands for. The story received tons of love from people all over the world, even official companies are extending their best wishes to the pair.
Casey will soon be attending graduate school and no doubt Paisley will be by her side through it all. There are also plans to welcome a new Dalmatian in to the family, a dog named Chevron, who was born from the same mother as Paisley. It’s unknown if this new addition will also become a service dog to Casey or others.
Lovers of this heartwarming story can be sure to follow Paisley’s official Instagram account to keep up to date with her daily life. The official Instagram features all photos of Paisley, sometimes visiting other places or hanging out with other furry friends!
