The first location of P.F. Chang’s opened in 1993 in Arizona by Philip Chiang and Paul Fleming. Since then, over 250 locations worldwide have popped up, including countries in South America, Europe and the Middle East.

2. Every dish is made from scratch

All food on each P.F. Chang’s menu is made from scratch. All produce is local whenever possible and all the food is prepped freshly every single day. Even the dumplings and spring rolls are hand-folded! It’s definitely considered farm to wok, as opposed to farm to table.

3. You can’t go there without trying the lettuce wraps

Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps are without a doubt the highest-selling item on the menu. They also have vegetarian lettuce wraps for those who don’t eat meat. You have to try one or you can’t officially say you’ve dined at P.F. Chang’s! Many restaurant chains have attempted to copy this dish since.

4. You can find some of the menu items in the frozen food aisle

Many items such as the spring rolls are available in the frozen food section in your local grocery store! There are also many copycat recipes online for some of their most popular dishes.

5. They have a rewards program (card free)

There’s a completely card-less rewards program that only takes five minutes. You can sign up online or in-store and start earning your points immediately. For every dollar you spend adds 10 points to your account. Once you reach 2,000 points, you can earn awesome rewards for free entrees. There’s also a free birthday deal you can use when the time comes!

6. The chefs are experts at the wok

The tradition of wok cooking dates all the way back to China over 2,000 years ago. The extremely hot pans release all of the natural flavors within the food to make sure it’s a taste you’ll never forget. Cooking in the wok also helps retain the nutrients in the food so you can be sure that it’s still fresh!

7. The recipes come straight from an award-winning chef

Philip Chiang’s mother, Cecilia Chiang, was an award-winning chef who specialized in upscale Chinese cuisine. Philip helped work in his mother’s restaurant for many years and soon opened his own. Later on, many of these recipes that were passed down to Philip became a key part of the P.F. Chang’s menu we know today.
