10-Year-Old Gets Bullied For His Colorful Lunchbox, So His Uncle Does Something Drastic At Work

It’s unfortunate that, even now, kids are still being relentlessly bullied for things as meaningless as their lunchbox. 10-year-old Ryker was stoked about his new lunchbox, but bullies at school thought otherwise and made sure Ryker knew.

It got to the point where Ryker didn’t even want to bring his lunch to school anymore because he was teased so much. That’s when his uncle, David Pendragon, stepped in and stood up for his nephew.

David wrote about the incident on Facebook, saying, “My cousin, Emily, has a 10-year-old son named Ryker. Ryker, who loves cats, was very excited to get his new lunchbox. Unfortunately because of its colors, or because it has cats, or both he was teased about it by other boys in his class.”

In response to this shameful bullying, Uncle David decided to bring his own colorful lunchbox to work (at a conservative, corporate company). The Internet went nuts! In addition to addressing the bullying in a Facebook post, he also posted a photo of himself with his own colorful lunchbox, and it went viral. The point of the post was to encourage Ryker, and all other young boys his age, to be himself and not worry about what other people might think.

People were so moved by this story that they began bringing their colorful lunchboxes to work with them. Some bought similar lunchboxes and others bought the exact same kind, which has been sold out twice since.

Many stood with Ryker and David by bringing their own lunchboxes to work. Additionally, many took to social media to express their support.

It’s so important for kids to know how valuable they are, and David did a great job encouraging his nephew.

We stand with Ryker and David! Did this story warm your heart as much as it did ours? Be sure to share this with friends and family!
