8. Nail Polish
Another non-food item to keep in your fridge is nail polish. It sounds odd but the cold air will help maintain the color and consistency of the nail polish for a longer period of time.
9. Ketchup
Once you open a bottle of ketchup, throw this in your fridge as well. It will help maintain flavor and freshness for about six months. Make sure to store the rest of your opened condiments in the fridge as well.
10. Avocados
Make sure to store your whole avocados in the fridge to keep them fresh for up to two weeks before cutting. If you’ve already cut it in half, keep the pit in and sprinkle it with lemon juice before storing to keep it fresher longer.
11. Nuts
Nuts kept in the fridge will stay fresh for up to a year. If you put them in the freezer, they will last up to two years. When there is a good sale on nuts, stock up, and store.
12. Olive Oil
Put your opened olive oil in the refrigerator instead of the pantry to prolong its shelf life. It turns bad when exposed to oxygen, light or heat.
