Could Your Vintage Pyrex Be Worth Some Real Money?

How many meals have you made using your Pyrex? You can create a meal from start to finish using Pyrex; between butter dishes, mixing bowls, casserole dishes, Tupperware, and more, Pyrex can be used for just about anything.

The reason that most of us use Pyrex is because it is so durable and long-lasting. You probably even have some Pyrex dishes that used to be in your childhood home, if your mom was willing to part with them!

Did you know that many patterns and styles of older Pyrex models are considered vintage? And did you know that this vintage Pyrex can be worth a lot of money?

Pyrex was first introduced in 1908 by Corning Glass Works (now Corning Inc.) as laboratory and kitchen glassware. The company produced this glassware using a special glass, borosilicate, as it was low-thermal-expansion and could handle rapid changes in temperature without changing shape.

That glass was ideal for labs and even street lamps! By the ‘40s, Corning began to use soda-lime glass and still does to this day.

If you have a ton of Pyrex dishes around the house, you might want to pull them out to see if they’re worth trying to sell. There are a considerable number of items on eBay that are sold for between $60 and $100. However, not every Pyrex dish is worth a lot of money. Some dishes only sell for $6.

Pink Pyrex dishes tend to pull in more money than any of the others. Now, if you have the Gooseberry pattern dishes, those are worth a lot more money. Those can sell for at least $200 on Etsy and eBay. Some have even sold for over $1,800! But they must be in pristine condition to rake in the big bucks.

Etsy

If you’re interested in selling your Pyrex, there are many online sellers you can easily do this through, like Etsy, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Letgo, and more. If you’re interested in buying vintage Pyrex, either for yourself or as a gift for mom, you will want to do your research. Make sure you read reviews of the seller and check out the return policies and clauses.

What is your favorite Pyrex dish? What was your favorite thing to make or serve in a Pyrex with your mom?
