Molly Ringwald Reveals Doctor Saved Her Father’s Life On Plane After Emergency Landing

The scariest moments in life tend to happen when we least expect it. There is no convenient location to have a medical emergency (except maybe a hospital) but an airplane is easily one of the worst places for a health scare.

Actress and ‘80s teen star Molly Ringwald just learned this firsthand. The world knows and loves Molly Ringwald from her days as part of the Brat Pack (a group of teen actors who often appeared together in coming-of-age films in the ‘80s, many of which were directed and written by John Hughes). After her days of Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club, Molly went on to work in some French films and now she plays Mary Andrews on Riverdale.

On April 26, 2018, Molly shared some scary news on Twitter about a situation that recently happened to her family. Molly wrote, “We all love to publicly vent against airlines but today I would like to thank Southwest Airlines and the doctor who happened to be onboard,” she wrote on Twitter Thursday. “They emergency landed the plane for my dad. Because of their speed and professionalism, my father’s life was saved.”

Molly did not go into the details of what happened to her father, Robert Scott “Bob” Ringwald, but we’re glad to hear that the well-known jazz pianist was helped out.

Molly’s initial tweet has gained some traction online, with over 23,000 likes. Southwest replied to Molly’s statement and said, “Molly, we are so happy to hear that your father was taken care of by our Crew today. We would love to followup further so that we can recognize our Crew.”

Thank goodness Southwest was able to act fast and help out Robert Ringwald. May he have a speedy recovery! Kudos to Molly for applauding the crew’s hard work that day.
