Congratulations are in order! The Duke and Duchess have welcomed their third child to the world.
Kate and the baby are both in good health. William may bring Prince George and Princess Charlotte to see their new baby brother at St. Mary’s Hospital later this afternoon.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.
“The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
It seems like it’s been forever since the royal family announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their third child, but it’s actually only been a few months. On September 4, 2017, the royal family turned to social media to announce that there would be a new baby joining them in the spring.
And now, that little one is finally here! The new baby is the third for Will and Kate, after big brother George and big sister Charlotte.
Once again, Kate experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum — severe morning sickness — throughout her pregnancy.
Luckily, she seemed to be feeling better toward the end of her pregnancy, making public appearances with William and the rest of the royal family.
Prince George has already proven himself to be a great big brother, but Princess Charlotte (who is known to be a bit sassy) is now a big sister for the first time! With wonderful parents like Will and Kate, though, the siblings are guaranteed to get along well.
While Kate was pregnant, the royal family had some other big announcements. The most important, of course, was Prince Harry’s engagement to actress Meghan Markle. The two are set to be wed on May 19, 2018.
The entire family has been eagerly awaiting the newest baby; they’re all excited to have another little one around again.
Hopefully there will be many more royal babies in the future! Prince Harry and Meghan have spoken candidly about both wanting children, and chances are they won’t wait long after tying the knot to start trying for their first baby.
Although the royal wedding is in less than a month, there’s no doubt that this baby will be the center of attention for quite a while! We can’t wait to see more pictures of this sweet munchkin over the next few days and weeks.
