Stevie Nicks came to understand the disapproval she met with. She declared, “It was so the wrong thing. To take Matthew and [Robin’s] husband was so beyond insane.” According to Nicks, ‘A lot of people refused to come to my wedding ‘ they thought I’d lost my mind, which I obviously had at the time’.

The decision to marry Kim was quick, and as she later realized, thoughtless. Their divorce soon followed. Since the time of the below video recording, the singer hadn’t seen Matthew or Kim since the upsetting divorce. It’s her hope that when Matthew grows older they will be able to have a conversation. To quote from the recording, “I hope he’ll come to me and I’ll be able to hand him things that were his mother’s and say, ‘This was her and look how wonderful she was'”.
