Carrie Underwood fans can breathe a sigh of relief: the country star is finally returning to the stage!
In November, Carrie shocked fans by letting them know she’d suffered a severe injury after a freak accident. Carrie took a tumble outside her Nashville home, and she ended up breaking her wrist and cutting a gash in her face.
She had facial surgery at the hospital, and the surgeon told her husband that she’d had 40 to 50 stitches. Carrie warned fans that when they saw her next, she might look a little different because of the injury.
Of course, fans were quick to wish Carrie a quick recovery and offered to keep her in their thoughts.
Since the accident, Carrie has stayed out of the spotlight. Her social media accounts have shown very few pictures of her face, and when they do, it’s obscured by a scarf or the angle of the camera.
Many of Carrie’s fans continued to worry about her recovery, and they started wondering when she would return to the public eye. Even with a large facial scar, there’s no doubt that Carrie would still be gorgeous!
In addition to staying quiet on social media, Carrie has shied away from the stage since her fall in November. Everyone hoped she would recover quickly and return to the stage, and our wishes have finally been answered!
In June, Carrie will perform during the opening night of the CMA Fest. She is set to take the stage after some other huge country stars, like Brett Young, Luke Combs, and Blake Shelton. The festival takes place in Nashville and begins on June 7, 2018.
The rest of the festival, which goes on for three more days, will feature other incredible country artists, like Darius Rucker, Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Gavin DeGraw, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Old Dominion, Florida Georgia Line, Shenandoah, and more!
