But now, social media users have revealed the genius solutions they’ve come across in a series of pictures compiled by Bored Panda.

These include having a calculator on your shopping trolley so you can actually work out how good the deals are, and traffic lights where the poles light up as well.

Another nifty idea is having a road sign that’s exactly the same height as the bridge in front – so that truck drivers know if they’ll be able to make it through.

Meanwhile, one social media user shared a picture of a lift with a button that’s 10 meters away – so that it actually arrives by the time you get there.
