30 Unbelievable Renovation Fails You Won’t Believe Actually Happened

One of the saddest sights in the world is witnessing the aftermath of someone who really, really tried to do a great job, but just couldn't quite cut the mustard. Sometimes, their error is so obvious that you wonder if they actually knew what they were supposed to be doing. Other times, the mistake they made is one that you could have easily made yourself. 1. Joke’s on you! The neighbors actually have a flying car, and thus no need for a driveway that smoothly goes into the garage. Psssh, tires are sooooo 2015. 2. When you NEVER consult an architecture specialist, this is the type of home renovation you’re bound to get. Did it never occur to them to match their exteriors?? 3. Sometimes when you don’t measure, it gives you the perfect opportunity to improvise on the fly. The new homeowners will never notice, right? 4. The challenge is that each year the tree becomes more difficult to get around. By the time the kids are all grown up, they’ll barely be able to get in and out of the garage. It’s just a natural deterrent to stop them from going out and partying. Clever parenting technique. 5. Sitting on the throne just got a whole lot more interesting. Maybe steer your guests away from using this bathroom though…? 6. I mean, I’m no professional, but even my untrained eye can see how godawful crooked the tiling and rug are. Ugh, there’s just WAY too much light coming through the window. Solution? Well apparently just make the window smaller by adding on some bricks. Choosing the perfect curtains is too hard anyway. 17. Of course, you need all your amenities in a localized place. In this case, you can wash your hands while charging your phone! The possibilities are endless. 18. This may not have been on purpose, but hey, decor really brings a room together. It’s all about the trick of the light! 19. Ok, I see the ambition. Who doesn’t want their own hot tub t0 relax in after a long day’s work? The daily grind must’ve killed some brain cells, because thinking that deck could support a jacuzzi, is just plain stupid. 20. What a nice idea, adding a fresh coat of paint to the roof. But next time, this painter should come up with a strategy to not paint himself into a corner. 21. A step further – the handle was placed so perfectly that the door can’t even close. This definitely required some skill. 23. This could’ve been artistically inspired by ‘The Leaning Tower of Pisa.’ But if a slanted house wasn’t the original intent, you can just tilt your head to the right a few degrees and it looks about normal… 24. It’s kind of like a piece of abstract art. You don’t really know what you’re looking at, but you take a picture of it anyway so you can post it on Instagram and seem all artsy and stuff. 25. This garage door is perfect…for motorcycles and bicycles and really anything that’s not a car. 26. Ever hear of the squatty potty? This one is pretty literal, as using it requires some serious squatting and flexibility. 27.Making an addition to a house can be quite the task. As to what this addition is supposed to be…your guess is as good as mine. 28. This is actually pretty great if you like messing around with house guests. While they’re inside searching frantically for the toilet paper, you’ll be chuckling at your mischievous design methods. 29. Whoever designed this toilet was definitely half-assing it… 30. When you don’t want too much sink space taking up the bathroom, you just make the sink smaller. As for the faucet? It’s like playing a game every time you turn it on.
