In the beginning of the film when Kathy Bates is attending a women’s group the author is the woman that directs the ladies to use their mirrors to look at their southward regions.
The reason that the film has that authentic southern look is that a good deal of it was really filmed in Georgia.
Kathy Bates and Mary Stuart Masterson were born on June 28. Kathy is 18 years Mary’s senior.
Evelyn’s husband Ed asks how Evelyn could have “accidentally” smashed into the younger girl’s car at the grocery store six times, but in actuality, she only hit the car four times.
