Dog the Bounty Hunter Reveals Wife Beth Chapman Is Cancer-Free

Beth Chapman, a star of the A&E series Dog the Bounty Hunter, revealed this fall she was diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer. She underwent surgery on her neck to remove a tumor the size of a plum and opened up about how it was tough to accept her diagnosis at first. But her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman, revealed on the A&E special Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives, that Beth is now cancer-free.

On the special, Dog is shown first talking to the camera about how he has struggled with Beth’s diagnosis. “If you love me, Lord, you’ll let me die first. Don’t let me bury Bethy,” he said, according to People. But then, he is shown entering a room full of loved ones and announcing the good news from a pathology report: “no cancer.”

“There is a God. This could be a miracle. This could be a healing,” he said in the special. “[The doctor] said if I wasn’t such a good husband it wouldn’t have worked out that great. Oh, I can breathe. Beth Chapman, you did it.”

And that seems to be the case since the cameras stopped rolling. “I had a doctor’s appointment just recently where they went in and checked and did another scope down my throat, and the doctor said that it looks like I’m in good condition now,” Beth told In Touch. She now says she has to keep her talking to a minimum and try to keep her life stress-free while she fully recovers.

But after the cancer battle, Dog and Beth say they are reevaluating the stressful bounty-hunting lifestyle they have lived over the years. “We’ve gotten a reality check on life and life is short,” Beth told Fox News. “The world is a dangerous place right now. Folks do not have very much respect for law enforcement. They definitely don’t have respect for our courts and our jurisdiction system. So we’re taking it day-by-day, but a lifestyle change is in order.”

Beth and her family went on social media to thank fans for supporting them through it all. Dog even hinted that there may be more specials to come.
