Art Deco House Goes Up For Sale After Remaining Untouched Since 1930s

In case you were thinking of an expedition back in time to the golden age of house building, you might want to consider stepping inside this 1930s Art Deco house that has retained all of its early 20th century essence.

The architecture of this period is renowned for its bold and sharp colors and contours. This house features all of it and more. Take a look for yourself.

The house is in North London, located on the Willow Estate in Enfield Town. The semi-detached property has just been put up for sale at £550,000. At the time it was built in 1934, it was priced at £350 which was considered a sizable amount back them.

The current owner of the house, photographer Elizabeth Whycer, has lived in the house since 1958. She is one of the only three owners of the house since it was built. When she moved in with her parents, there was a genuine dislike in the family for any kind of hammering and renovating by workmen. Since then, the house has remained untouched.

Structurally, the house has kept all its features frozen in time. Containing all that bold and beautiful fashion of the yesteryear, coupled with the posh North London location, the house makes for a  great sale.

Almost everything in the house belong to the 1930s era, except the 70s carpet and wallpaper. The fireplace is the original one, though.
