7. Your eyes can tell when you’re too cold
Your eyes feel the cold just like the rest of your body, but the way they react is a little strange. When you’re suffering from hypothermia, the blood vessels in your eyes will constrict in an effort to save energy, which can cause temporary blindness.
8. Your body can predict the weather
We’ve all got that one Aunt in the family who claims her knee knows when it’s gonna rain, and we’re all very aware of Karen from Mean Girls and the superhuman powers of her breasts, but there might be more to this than we think! When a storm is approaching, the pressure in the atmosphere drops which can create pressure in your joints so you know that there’s rain on the way.
9. You can unblock your own nose
And I don’t mean with a really good decongestant! If you’re feeling blocked up, press your tongue against the roof of your mouth and press down with your thumb on the space between your eyebrows. This will make the bone in your nose move back and forth, loosen your nasal passages and clear your sinuses quickly.
10. Lying down can help to cure heartburn
If you sleep on your left side, you’re less likely to suffer from heartburn as the angle of your stomach and esophagus will help prevent stomach acid from making it’s way up your throat. If this isn’t a good excuse for that nap, I don’t know what is!
11. Your nose can work like a time machine
I can’t guarantee that it’ll work as well as the Tardis or Doc’s Delorean, but your nose can take you on a trip through time all by itself. If you smell something that reminds you of a specific time, your brain will automatically help you to remember that time more clearly.
12. You can shed your skin like a snake
Your skin naturally sheds itself due to its natural life cycle, this is why you sometimes get huge patches of dry skin in places like your feet. This is why exfoliating is so popular, it helps you to shed any dead skin that’s hanging around.
