10 Little Known Movie Mistakes In Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory

8. The chocolate river.

Did you know the river was actually real chocolate? Te cream mixed with it made it go bad though and very quickly. Some of the cast said that the smell lingered for a long time. Regardless of how old I am, I still dream of swimming in a chocolate river. I think the closest I’ll get is a chocolate fountain at a wedding.

9. The spooky boat ride.

During the spooky boat ride scene, you think the boat is moving very fast but there’s no wind used in the scene. Rumour has it that this was because the director had an argument with the wind operator right before filming the scene.

10. Veruca’s lip syncing.

You can clearly see Veruca Salt lip-syncing during her song, but she had enough stage presence that no one really noticed.
