“Your home is supposed to be a place where you are comfortable, so we surround ourself with things that make us feel comfortable,” Kate tells The NY Post.

Creepy dolls, marionette puppets, a mummified goats head — and more than 100 Ouija boards — are just a few of the eerie treasures sprinkled throughout their Milltown house.

Rick said that he doesn’t think his home or collections are ‘unusual at all’. Above his daughters are surrounded by some of the items from inside their home (DailyMailUK)

“The real reason why I collect Ouija boards is I’ve been in pursuit of living in a haunted house,” Rick says of his fascination with the occult game that is supposed to offer a gateway to the afterlife.

Rick, who put a board on every wall in the hopes of creating a “vortex” for spirits to enter, hasn’t had any ghostly visitors so far.

“The reason why I think I might be into this stuff is cause I was running around a morgue at 4 years old,” says Rick.

“My grandfather used to babysit me in there and tell me, you know, ‘Shh, people are sleeping.”

In addition to living in a home dedicated to the dead, the family owns a hearse that they use as their everyday car.

“We bring it to Walmart,” quips Kate.

It’s also the car that the Schreck’s drive to pick up their kids from school.

“There’s some people who are really cool with it, they’re like, ‘Hey, can I ride with you after school?’” says Winter, adding that others try to avoid making eye contact with her.

It may not be a typical car, but the black Lincoln easily fits a family of five and is Rick’s most reliable car.
