Primetime Soap Stars Of The 80s: Where Are They Now?

The ’80s was a great time for a lot of things: fashion, music and television. With the rise of soap operas during the decade, we were inundated with hilarious shows that we would religiously watch everyday. From Dallas to Dynasty to Falcon Crest, let’s take a look back at the stars who blossomed during their time on-screen and what they’re up to nowadays.. Dynasty Joan Collins As Alexis Carrington Colby Collins was considered the reason why the show became successful since her introduction in the second season brought a huge boost in ratings. The actress was nominated for several awards for her role and even won a Golden Globe. Joan Collins Now Collins made several appearances in more hit shows including Roseanne and Will And Grace. As well as her acting career, Joan made it big as an author and was named a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her charity work – what a life! Linda Evans As Krystle Carrington Krystle was introduced as Blake Carrington’s wife and was known for her infamous rivalry with Alexis. Evans also won a Golden Globe and received several award nominations for her role in the show. Linda Evans Now Although the actress retired from the industry in 1997, she did appear in on stage alongside Collins in Legends. To add to her list of achievements, Evans was crowned the winner of Hell’s Kitchen in 2009. John Forsythe As Blake Carrington Starring as the cunning patriarch of the family, Blake Carrington is the only character to appear in every episode of the show. Forsythe received two Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television series – Drama. John Forsythe 1918 – 2010 Forsythe went on to star in the comedy series, The Powers That Be and even appeared as the infamous Charlie in Charlie’s Angels and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. At the age of 92, John unfortunately died of pneumonia in 2010. Heather Locklear As Sammy Jo Dean Carrington Locklear starred as the materialistic niece of Krystle Carrington who goes on to marry Steven Carrington. Heather Locklear Now Locklear has appeared in several shows and movies since the end of Dynsastyincluding, Melrose Place, Spin City and The Perfect Man. Pamela Sue Martin As Fallon Carrington Colby Martin played the promiscuous daughter of Blake Carrington through to the end of the fourth season. Her character was then replaced by Emma Samms when she left the show. Pamela Sue Martin Now After the show, Martin appeared in the likes of That ’70s Show and Supernatural. Jack Coleman As Steven Carrington After taking over the role in 1983, Steven Carrington became on of the first gay characters on American television. He was introduced as Sammy Jo’s husband but always secretly struggled with his sexuality. Jack Coleman Now Coleman became hugely successful since the show, appearing in the likes of The Office, Heroes and The Vampire Diaries, just to name a few. Falcon Crest Jane Wyman As Angela Channing This ruthless leader ran the Falcon Crest vineyards and would do anything to be able to build her family’s fortune and keep control over the company. Jane Wyman Now Wyman retired from acting in 1993 and passed away in 2007 at the age of 90 due to natural causes. Lorenzo Lamas As Lance Cumson The scheming grandson of Angela Channing helps with all of her plots, not to mention he is quite the casanova with the ladies. Lorenzo Lamas Now Since the show, Lamas has appeared in multiple projects including Renegade, Midnight Man, The Muse and Lethal.
