The Generous Celebs Who Love To Give Back

The EGOT-winning actress and comedian joined fellow comedians Bob Saget and George Lopez by participating in Cool Comedy — Hot Cuisine this month at legendary New York City comedy club Caroline’s. The gala helped raise money for the Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF), which helps find improved therapies and a cure for people living with scleroderma.

In October, the double-Oscar winner donated his Remington Rand vintage typewriter to an online sweepstakes hosted by online marketplace IfOnly. The proceeds benefitted Lifeline Energy, an organization that provides education and information access to communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Hanks has been serving as the American ambassador of Lifeline Energy since 2003.

Madonna

The “Queen of Pop,” who founded Raising Malawi and is a patron of Children of Peace, donated to three community groups in her hometown of Detroit in July. The superstar donated to the Downtown Youth Boxing Gym, the Detroit Achievement Academy and the Empowerment Plan.

The lovable actress, animal lover and honorary president of the Morris Animal Foundation, participated in the Everyone Matters campaign “I Am!” in February, in which participants from all over the world uploaded selfies on social media to show how proud they are of their personality traits and their identities. White was joined by other celebrities, including Hugh Jackman, Natalie Portman and Christina Aguilera.

The Oscar-winning actor with the powerful voice and founder of Plan!t Now starred in a movie called “Wish Wizard,” which was made in connection with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The movie gave four lucky kids the movie-making experience of a lifetime with one of the kids, Matthew, acting as the director of the movie. Yes, he got to direct Morgan Freeman!
