Loretta Lynn gave an encouraging message to fans for the first time since suffering a stroke in May. And the country star chose to share the message at a family tradition. Lynn recorded a message for all of those attendances at her family ranch’s 4th of July celebration.
Lynn’s daughter, Patsy, hosts the concert celebration at the ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. One fan in the audience recorded Lynn’s message and shared it online. The ranch Facebook page then later confirmed the authenticity of the recording.
“This is Loretta Lynn, and happy fourth of July!” the recording says. “Come back again next year, and you all have a good time this year. And thank you for all the prayers. I love you.”
