Loretta Lynn's Walking And Talking Again Post-Stroke, Says Brother

Herman Webb, the 82-year-old younger brother of music legend Loretta Lynn, has shared details of his sister's ongoing recovery from a stroke she suffered in May. "She can talk, and Loretta told me that she thought she's going to be OK," Webb recently told Closer Weekly magazine. Webb, the third of eight children born to Ted and Clara Webb (Lynn was the second), said, "She seems to be coming along pretty good," adding that she is determined to perform again, noting that music has been therapeutic for his sister. Lynn, who was at home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, outside Nashville, when she suffered the stroke on May 4th, has been receiving rehabilitative care close to Music City. "Her left side was kind of paralyzed," Webb explained, "but herself now, she just has to use a walker… She's doing really good – that's the main thing." Webb, who lives near the Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, home where he and Loretta grew up before the family moved, is the curator of the "cabin on a hill in Butcher Holler" near Paintsville, Kentucky, and often conducts tours for visitors to the historic home. The 85-year-old Lynn was in the middle of a tour when she suffered the stroke. All of her upcoming shows have been postponed indefinitely, including two which were scheduled for Nashville's Ryman Auditorium August 24th and 25th. But, at the same time, a date for the singing legend's Motorcycle and Music Revival, has been set, with the event taking place September 28th through October 1st at Hurricane Mills.
