“TV/RADIO TODAY”

    • 1964 – The Rolling Stones taped a performance for the television show Hollywood Palace.
    • 1967 – Jefferson Airplane appeared on American Bandstand on ABC-TV, performing the hits “White Rabbit” and “Somebody To Love”.
    • 1985 – After five years, the characters of Nancy and Chris Hughes returned to CBS-TV’s “As the World Turns.”
    • 1987 – George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex” was banned by the BBC.

  • 1990 – The Big Day, the free festival took place in Glasgow, Scotland with Wet Wet Wet, Deacon Blue, Hothouse Flowers, Sheena Easton, Texas, Hue and Cry, John Martyn, Eddi Reader, The Average White Band and others. Channel 4 TV ran a six-hour live broadcast from the event.
