When they were recording during this period, they had been very disappointed with their sales. This is partially because this was before there was a teenage music scene/market (The Beatle era). But, with what followed after BEATLEMANIA, the whole industry changed, and became driven by the newly created teenage market. The BEE GEE’s were obviously well prepped for this evolution, and they recorded what was to become their first big hit – “SPICKS and SPECKS” – this was obviously a severely monumental part of the history of modern music in Australia. There is still a music quiz show on TV, named after that song.
