“OTHER IMPORTANT EVENTS…”

  • 1941 – U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt proclaimed an “unlimited national emergency” amid rising world tensions.
  • 1969 – Construction of Walt Disney World began in Florida.
  • 1998 – Charlie Sheen was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles for a drug overdose.
  • 2000 – Paula Yates was awarded £400,000 ($680,000) in an out-of-court settlement from her boyfriend Michael Hutchence fortune. Hutchence had died in 1997 INXS singer Hutchence was found dead in his hotel suite in Sydney in 1997 aged 37.
