  • 1984 – Bob Marley and the Wailers started a 12-week run at No.1 on the UK album chart with the compilation album ‘Legend’, released to commemorate the third anniversary of Marley’s death.
  • 1984 – ZZ Top released “Legs” on Dusty Hill’s birthday.
  • 1984 – “The Longest Time” from Billy Joel took over at #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
  • 1984 – “Hello” by Lionel Richie spent a third week at #1 on the R&B chart.
  • 1986 – Genesis released the single “Invisible Touch”.
  • 1986 – Peter Gabriel released the album “So.”
  • 1990 –  Madonna started a three week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Vogue’.
