Now, you can imagine how devastating it was for me when the lady who used to watch us when my mother wasn’t around threw the contents of the tank down the drain. To her, it was just a container of dirty water with grimy little things floating around in it, but to me it was an inconsolable heartbreak. If only she knew how much my strange pet meant to me! Luckily, my cousin was quick to order a new batch by my next birthday and I was able to reign anew over my beloved aquatic charges.
