Maurice White RIP (1941 – 2016), You’re a shining star

Today singer-songwriter, musician, and bandleader Maurice White has passed away at the age of 74. Maurice died in L.A. after a long battle with Parkinson’s. He was diagnosed in 1992 and is finally at peace.

Maurice was best know as leader and founder of Earth, Wind & Fire. In 2000, the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Maurice was individually inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010. His horn-driven band sold more than 90 million albums and made hits like “September,” ”Shining Star” and “Boogie Wonderland.”
