The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree recently rolled into NYC and people are now comparing it to the Christmas tree from A Charlie Brown Christmas. You know, the sad-looking tree that everyone yells at Charlie Brown for picking instead of the nicer-looking ones. A lot of people, however, are saying that the tree is fitting for the 2020 year.
The official Twitter account for the Rockefeller Center responded to the criticism, saying, “Wow, you all must look great right after a two-day drive, huh? Just wait until I get my lights on! See you on December 2!”
Let’s check out what some people are saying… One person writes, “Could the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree look any worse? 2020 on brand…” Another writes, “Charlie Brown: I have the saddest Christmas Tree. Rockefeller Center: Hold my beer.” Sounds about right.

“Ladies and Gentlemen – the Christmas tree has arrived at Rockefeller Center in NYC. Left pic is how it looked when it was cut down. Right pic is how it arrived. Welcome to 2020,” someone writes, including before and after photos.
Some people are feeling a bit more optimistic despite the Charlie Brown tree appearance. One person responds, “I find it a little plucked, the Rockefeller Christmas tree, this year. Well it matches with 2020. Hopefully the decorations will be a good camouflage.”
The displaying of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has been a yearly tradition since 1933. It typically sits under 30 Rock, in-between West 48th and West 51st streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues. One good thing to come out of this story, though? A little friend.
“They found a small owl inside of this year’s Rockefeller Christmas tree, he hitched a ride all the way to NYC and is now being treated and cared for at a wildlife rehab facility,” someone tweets out. Looks like someone hitched a ride on the tree this year!
