Tim Allen Confirms ‘Last Man Standing’ Renewed For Season 9

Tim Allen recently confirmed that Last Man Standing was renewed for another season! The next season will be season 9. The actor tweeted, “Good news. Today Fox announced Last Man Standing is on for season 9!!!!”

Tim’s newer show has officially surpassed Home Improvement. The show ran for eight seasons. In both shows, Tim plays a husband and a father. However, in Home Improvement, he was a father to all boys, while in Last Man Standing he has all daughters.

‘Last Man Standing’ has been renewed for another season after the last one was cut short due to coronavirus

Season 8 of Last Man Standing was cut abruptly due to the coronavirus pandemic. They had to stop filming, which altered the last episode. They were not able to film the season finale. Tim talked about what the season finale was supposed to bring in another interview. Perhaps they will start season 9 there.

Tim has said that Last Man Standing is similar to his real life. He said, “Although [the ‘Last Man Standing’ cast] doesn’t replace the wonderful the beautiful ‘Home Improvement’ family that I still am close to, this family is now, we’re empty nesters. Everybody at the show … has grown up …”

Last Man Standing‘s parent network Fox also released a statement about the renewal. Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn said, “‘The Resident’ and ‘Last Man Standing’ are such important parts of Fox, and we’re so pleased they will be returning next season. We want to thank all of the writers, actors, directors, producers, and talented crews for both of these shows, and, of course, our friends and producing partners at 20th Century Fox Television.”
