Hollywood actor Rob Lowe is celebrating a very special milestone, 30 years of sobriety! He took to his Instagram page to talk about his experience being 30 years sober and fans could not be more proud of him and his strength.
“30 years ago today, I found a sober life of true happiness and fulfillment. I am filled with gratitude on this anniversary,” he writes. “From a treatment center in Arizona to a bomb shelter in Israel, I have come to know many extraordinary people, and the fellowship of recovery has changed my life and given me gifts beyond my selfish imaginings. If you, or someone you love is struggling with any kind of addiction, there is hope! Love to you all.”
Lowe credits his longtime friend, Demi Moore, for helping him make the decision to become sober. Moore became sober after struggling with addiction for many years. “She was the first person I ever knew who got sober,” Lowe tells The View audience when he went on the show for a segment. “She was a huge inspiration to me. It was the ‘80s, we were all doing our thing.”

He continues, “I just remember thinking, ‘If that girl can get sober, anybody can.’ Everybody has that person in their life where they go, ‘That’s a great example.’ So it was very helpful.”
Of course, fans are extremely proud of how far Lowe has come. Some fans even shared experiences of their own. “Congratulations on this phenomenal anniversary, Rob! 👏🏻 As the daughter of a recovering alcoholic, this anniversary of yours is really comforting because it gives me a sense of hope for my own father. Again, congratulations and thank you for being so transparent about your troubling yet beautiful journey to sobriety. Much love to you and your family! ♥️” one fan writes.
Another fan simply says, “Congratulations on your continued battle. May you always be on the winning side.” We’re so happy for Lowe’s continued health and strength. Congrats on 30 years!
