The last surviving member of the Rockford Peaches has died. Mary Pratt was 101 years old. The Rockford Peaches was an All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She was the last member of the original team from 1943.

The AAGPBL Twitter page confirmed the sad news. They wrote, “We are terribly sad to report that former Rockford Peaches and Kenosha Comets pitcher, Mary Pratt passed away on May 6th. She was 101 years old. Mary was the last known original Peaches player that played on the 1943 team. Her stories, her energy will be missed for a long time.”

Mary Pratt from the Rockford Peaches has died at 101 years old

Rockford was one of the teams featured in the movie A League of Their Own, inspired by the inaugural season of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

Mary pitched for five seasons from 1943 to 1947. She later worked as a teacher after graduating from Boston University. In addition, Mary coached softball, basketball, soccer, and tennis teams.

Mary is in Boston University’s Athletic Hall of Fame. She was inducted in 1978. In conclusion, watch some footage from the team back in the day:
