According to Andrew Jack’s agent, the Star Wars actor passed away in Britain due to the coronavirus. He was 76 years old. The world knew him on the big screen as General Ematt in Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi then in Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Force Awakens. Additionally, Jack worked as a dialect coach, according to Fox.
According to his wife, Gabrielle Rogers, Andrew Jack passed away comfortably. He was diagnosed with coronavirus roughly two days ago. However, he felt peaceful and consoled by his loved ones. She wrote, “He was in no pain, and he slipped away peacefully knowing that his family were all ‘with’ him.”
According to his agent, Jill McCullough, Andrew Jack put his entire being into everything he worked on. He appeared in multiple Star Wars movies but also worked as a vocal trainer for other films. McCullough explained, “He was still working full pelt, currently coaching on the new Batman.” The Batman is scheduled for a 2021 release. But he did more than simply teaching. Jack built connections. “Dialect coaching isn’t just about being good at accents — you need to make your actors feel safe and confident — and Andrew’s actors adored him,” McCullough elaborated.

They describe him as wielding a commanding and comforting presence in equal measure. Christopher Miller, executive producer of Solo: A Star Wars Story, expressed as much online. On Twitter, he remembered Andrew Jack’s professional and personal contributions to making everyone’s time working on the film enjoyable.
The Force was with Andrew Jack early on. His father Stephen Jack was an actor as well. Jack was born on January 28, 1944. Since 1982, Jack kept himself busy at an exponentially growing pace. His career spans over 80 motion pictures and he has worked with over 200 actors to help hone their vocal talents. Jack has coached the likes of Sean Astin in The Lord of the Rings, Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye, Robert Downey Jr. in Chaplin, and more.
Jack passed away while his wife is under quarantine in Australia. Until this point, Jack lived a busy, productive, and grand life. “Andrew lived on one the oldest working houseboats on the Thames, he was fiercely independent but madly in love with his wife; also a dialect coach; Gabrielle Rogers,” his agent stated. As a coach, he was considered “a pioneer in our industry.”
