There have been many plans for a hologram tour of deceased singers such as Whitney Houston. Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly holograms have already been created for a tour and have already performed. There are even talks to get ABBA holograms created for the future. Now, Priscilla Presley talks about the possibility of creating an Elvis hologram for live show purposes. She thinks it could be a reality one day, but that technology just isn’t there yet.
She says this in an interview with This Morning, “No, it hasn’t progressed really to what I feel would be him. It’s very difficult to get his image.” She is open to the idea though, 100 percent.
Priscilla continues, “Very difficult because the way they do holograms is putting bits and pieces together. But I think you’re seeing the real deal on this screen. I don’t think a hologram can really match what you’re seeing.”

She adds, “I haven’t really seen it that perfected. I’m not saying it’ll never be around because it may progress on everybody really. But right now it’s not in progress.”
In addition to Priscilla being open to the idea, but not believing the technology is there yet, his estate did reject a request for a CGI recreation of Elvis in a new movie. Since his estate rejected this notion, the film called Finding Jack will be led by a CGI James Dean. On the flip side, it appears that an Elvis Presley biopic is in the works anyhow from Baz Luhrmann. It will star Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’s Austin Butler.
“I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right, and we searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist,” Baz says about Butler, who is taking on leading male role. “I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures.”
A malfunctioning hologram version of Elvis was featured in the film Blade Runner 2049. Check out a scene from that movie below.
