Helen Mirren recently just showed off her best by wearing a long, gorgeous, fitted gown to the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming HBO miniseries, Catherine the Great. While her new show allegedly has a steamy scene in it, that’s not what people were talking about at the premiere! Helen stuns everyone in her gorgeous gown, which was complemented by a regal cape of the same color.

She was also wearing breathtaking jewelry along her neck, ears, and fingers. At 74 years old, she was looking beautiful as ever rocking her natural grey-colored hair styled in backward waves and a bright pink lip color.

At the premiere, Helen poses with Jason Clarke. He plays the role of Grigory Potemkin, Catherine’s lover, in the new HBO series. News.com.au says that the new show Catherine the Great focuses on the life of Catherine II. She was the empress of Russia from 1762 until 1796, for those who aren’t aware.

Catherine began ruling Russia after she would unseat her husband, Emperor Peter III. He was known to be violent and a drunk. Of course, many people would disregard Catherine’s success and achievements and saw her as nothing but an object for sex. According to reports, historians even believe that Catherine’s sexual appetite was so intense, she would even think about sleeping with horses. However, these allegedly are rumors from those of misogynistic nature who refuse to recognize Catherine’s true success.

We expect the Prime Suspect star to absolutely dominate the role of Catherine II in the new series, which would begin airing on October 21st on HBO. Take a look at the video below, where Helen sits in an interview talking about Catherine herself and the show.
