The Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott recently talked to E! News about working on A Very Brady Renovation. They revealed how much pressure it truly was. The brothers said they knew how much fans loved The Brady Bunch and how they would notice small details of the iconic house. They worked really hard to make the renovations as authentic as possible.
Drew and Jonathan were joined by HGTV’s Good Bones Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine, Restored By the Fords’ Leanne and Steve Ford, Hidden Potential’s Jasmine Roth, and Flea Market Flip’s Lara Spencer.
The HGTV stars were paired with the Brady Bunch siblings Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) to work on the renovations together.
They recreated all of the original pieces including custom wallpaper. The brothers also talked about how cool it was to see the Brady siblings together for the first time in many years. Many of the stars had not seen the actual home that was the backdrop of the show. They had only been on the set, so it was a very heartwarming experience to see the house together for the first time.
They also admitted that the Brady siblings shed some tears when they saw the completed renovations for the first time. It was just like walking on set fifty years ago. There was one difference though! Apparently, the original Brady Bunch set did not have any toilets. Back then, it was improper to show toilets on television. The renovated Brady house does include toilets to make it a functioning home.
The Property Brothers‘ Drew and Jonathon Scott also write children’s stories. They discussed their latest book in the interview as well. They encourage kids to build things and work together. There are even instructions on how to build something fun at the end of the book too! How cool is that?
